Introducing Gynecologic Oncologist Dr. Daudi
Hello, my name is Dr. Sayeema Daudi. I am a fellowship trained Gynecologic Oncologist, from the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, in Buffalo, New York. Prior to this, I attended the Medical College of Wisconsin and then completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
As a Gynecologic Oncologist, I treat cancers of the female genital tract, with the most common being uterine, ovarian and cervix cancer. Gynecologic oncology is unique among all cancer specialties as I not only perform cancer surgery, but can also administer chemotherapy if needed. As part of my specialty, I have extensive training in radiation therapy and am closely involved in this aspect of treatment for my patients. Finally, I also have training in palliative care medicine and I value providing a compassionate transition into end of life care. Taken together, as a gynecologic oncologist, I place an importance in serving as the primary care provider for my patients during their cancer journey.
Minimally invasive surgery, most specifically, robotic surgery has revolutionized the surgical treatment of gynecologic patients under my care. The minimally invasive surgical approach has allowed a shortened recovery period for my patients, so that they can more quickly begin their next phase of treatment, if one is necessary.
I highlight my treatment philosophy as a cancer specialist to keep the focus of treatment on the patient and not the cancer. I maintain an importance on tailoring the treatment with a goal to improve and maintain a quality of life. I strive to provide my patients with a top quality, multidisciplinary approach to the management of cancer in a patient-centric and supportive fashion.
When I am not working, I like to be active! I have found that painting ceramics helps me to balance stress. My favorite recreational activity is rollerblading and I try to experience new trails on my adventures. Maintaining a work life balance is challenging and I believe that this is crucial to being the best physician and best person that is possible. I’m currently accepting new patients at the Ironwood Women’s Centers in Avondale, Glendale, and Sun City.
