Introduction to Genetic Counseling

The certified genetic counselors at Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers help patients understand the genetic component of their diagnosis. They also consult with family members about cancer risk and explain their genetic test results. Our certified genetic counselors, Mandy Kass MS, CGC, and Rachel Mador-House, CGC, M.Sc., MSc collaborate with our multi-specialty cancer care providers to develop an individualized treatment plan for patients.

For some people, genetic testing can determine why their cancer developed. Genetic testing can also help detect certain cancers at the earliest possible stage.  Learn more about the Genetic Counseling process at Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in this video featuring Mandy Kass.
